INTERVIEW
Who are you?
My name’s Bob Duncan. I often go by my last name, “Duncan”.
Where in the world are you from?
Los Angeles, CA.
What was the first camera you picked up?
The first camera I picked up was the Polaroid Swinger in 1965. It had just come out and was being heavily marketed. Because I couldn’t afford all the trappings that went with photography in those days (such as a complete darkroom setup) I opted for the cheapest possible means of getting a photo: The Swinger.
Tell us a little more about the picture that you submitted for lofi
I’m always noticing abstractions as I walk about and couldn’t help but notice this abstracted shadow line from the guardrail.
Does it have a name?
No name – I rarely name my photos – Like Pollock or Rothko perhaps I should just number them. But for the time being, they’re all untitled.
Most memorable place visited as a photographer?
India. Infinitely interesting place to photograph.
One place you’d like to visit as a photographer?
Africa calls me these days.
What’s next in the pipeline?
For the moment, I’m about to see Morocco.
Hashtag you most overuse?
#richeldisfineart
Have you (or do you intend to) create a book on your photography?
Definitely intend to create several books on my photos.
